Jenny's Earth Hour Experience

Unlike last year, we spent Earth Hour in the SM Mall of Asia Science Planetarium. It was a good thing since they also observed Earth Hour. By the time the clock struck 8:30, 75% of their power was turned off. Still, we got to enjoy!

(Earlier, we went to Manila Ocean Park. They were also very supportive of EH. We proceeded to the church near MOA. I forgot the name, sorry. )

We watched the Enchanted Reef in their dome-like cinema. It was really cool because the screen was on the ceiling. You'll feel as if you're under the sea. :D. My little sister was a bit disappointed because she was expecting planets. They all thought it was a continuation of our experience in Manila Ocean Park. My dad said I'd never get tired of it since I want to become a Marine Biologist--which is true, next to you-know-what.

We also tried out other interactive knowledgeable games:

1. Flight Simulator

2. Robotics

3. Build you own car

4. Remove the waste products from the Blood Stream - I got the high score for the day! 2750! :D

5. Make the machine vomit - you'll need to arrange in sequence which organs make you vomit: Brain > Stomach > Esophagus > Mouth)

6. Virtual Reef - Me emt Mr. T, the titan fish! He freaking speaks! (WAHAHA!) You ask him questions, and he'll answer. (Between you and me, there's actually a hidden door. SSHHH :}} )

Quite an entertainer, I'd say. We found out he likes Adam Lambert and David Archuleta. Earlier, his girlfriend was Dyesibel. Later that night, his new girlfriend is Marina! XD

7. Burp-o-Meter - Make the country guy burp.

8. Whatever-you-call-that Machine - You need to smell from a tube and guess what it is. My siblings and I didn't have the guts to do so because the choices were: MOUTH, ARMPIT, ANUS, AND FOOT. Only my mom and dad did. Good luck with that! :-S

9. Time Capsule - Send you message to a person in the future. This one's amusing because the computer will really save it and might even use it for the public. It was hard to type, though, since it was touch screen. Actually, all the computers were touch screen.

10. TV Chuva - Hahaha. (My apologies for the name of the machine. XP)

A television set is placed in front of you that has sensors so that you'll be part of the game. You'll see yourself playing Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Table Tennis, and Fish Bait.

AMAZING!

11. And a whole lot others I wasn't able to use due to EH and lack of time.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I remember our Earth Hour experience last year. EH wasn't widely known back then because they never televised nor posted about it. We only learned about it on the net.

Anyway, we only stayed at home and turned off not only the lights but EVERYTHING (except for the fridge, of course). We really wanted to make a big difference so we also exceeded one hour. We decided to sleep and wait until morning comes. Unfortunately, we woke up when dad came home from work and turned on the lights. Hahaha. He said he needed to eat. :))

Oh well. At least, we exceeded one hour and turned everything off. I feel really proud of our participative household. I LOVE THEM!

Anyhow, I hope you guys did your part too. I can't wait for next year's EH.

(It got us thinking, though. Why only one hour? :[ )

KBYE for now. Wow. I actually posted three blog entries. :D Yay Me!

(Cross-posted in LiveJournal)

I discovered recently that they offered Special Programs too, not only for Ateneans and Miriamites/ Mary Knollers!

Actually, I was supposed to sign up for Hip Hop Dance. (HAHAHA! The next deadline is tomorrow. :S

6. Participant in the Shangri-La Mall Tour - I've been pulled out of classes twice already. I'll be pulled out again tomorrow. You see, our performance is on the 16th at Edsa Shangri-La Mall.

(And to think I was pulled out thrice for the preparation for the Food Fair. Thank goodness it's over and done with! )

7. Leader for the Physics Lab Activity - Look, this whole leader thing is messed up. I distinctly remember our adviser asked for volunteers. And I know for sure I DID NOT VOLUNTEER.
Hmm...long time, no post.

Anyway, let's help make the world a better place. We can do this just by slacking off our butts and using the computer BP

Hoyeah! It's possible! Hahaha.

First, we can donate to any charitable institution we prefer. We can do this just by surfing the net using, GoodSearch. It's powered by Yahoo! so let's start making it our homepage. I discovered this when I was viewing Ma'am's LJ (beatzz)

*asks permission from big brother*

Second, we can save rainforests by using the (Lil) Green Patch application on Facebook

<lj-embed id="8" />

By the way, Facebook is fun.
Hahaha. Last May 14 we finally got our won Wii!

I don't know about you but that sure reminds me of a piggy saying "wii." Hahaha. There isn't even an option in chnaging the language, only the American Wii has. We could modify it to english but I think it would be unethical.

Sigh. So I guess the only games we can play right now are those that came with it. Althugh it's in a different language, you can somehow understand the instructions once you're used to it. Being my busy self, I only got to play it for the first time yesterday. I guess you can say I'm good because I understood how to play it. :D

Next, we'll need to get a Wii Fit! Hahaha. At long last! Being fit while playing and having fun! Woot! Plus, I'll get to view my weight and check i I'm balanced.

For more details, click this link. http://www.nintendo.com/wiifit/launch/ Don't forget to take the survey! :))

<strike>I wanna buy at Toys R Us!
</strike>
The thing is, will it be compatible with a Japanese Wii? :(

Phew~ It has already been a month since I last made an entry. X(

Summer training has officially ended. Well, technically, it was supposed to end last Friday but...DUTY CALLS! You see, last Friday, we were supposed to take our Comprehensive exam and pictorial (and of course, our boodle fight! XD) but most of us were assigned as ushers/usherettes (moi being one of them), waiters/waitresses, and exhibitors. This time, our school had guests from AHRMEI. They had a conference about HRM, at least that's what I've been told. In lieu of Friday, the comprehensive exam was moved on Monday.

However, on such short notice, me, Mariane, Joyce, Janine, and Las (along with Sarah and ate Amica) were assigned as usherettes (TAKE NOTE: We were wearing the Filipiniana costume) to the members of UNESCO during their ASPAC Conference. At first we thought we were only going to usher them inside the campus. Much to our surprise, we headed at Shangril-La Hotel. We then realized that this conference wasn't something so-so. In fact, madame President was there. Yep! The President of our dearly beloved country! We shook hands and had our pictures taken with her. Watch out for any news broadcasts and newspaper updates! ;*))

While we were shaking hands with President Gloria Macpagal-Arroyo:
Amb. Soliven: These are the high school students--
Pres.: From what school?
Amb.: From the center's national laboratory, O. B. Montessori...
Pres.: Ahh...
Amb. Operation Brotherhood
Pres.: Oh. Where Mikey came from.
Amb.: Yes...
*chuckling*

Basically, we were there to greet them, "Mabuhay," "Magandang Umaga po," "Good morning sir/ma'am," and to escort them to their seats, which was kind of confusing.

There was one Presidential Security Group (PSG) member who asked us what our age was. After finding out that we were only minors, he told us that what we were doing was wrong. He thought we were getting paid for our work. To correct him, Mariane wisely told him that it was part of a school activity.

The conference was about the five goals of UNESCO:
1. The improvement of the Tubbataha Reefs (--or something like that. Haha. Soreeii. I wasn't able to concentrate on her speech. I was too starstruck. The moment I shook her hand was still playing in my head. o.O)
2. The eradication of poverty
3. Lifelong education for sustainable development
4. Erhm..
5. Uh...
Mann, I can't remember. Here, just check this out. I searched for this. http://www.news.ops.gov.ph/speech2008_may19.htm

Anyhow, we were still nervous after the conference because Sir dela Peña told us that we'll need to take the test after. Good thing Ms. Lana David was there to help us out. She asked Sir Capistrano for us to take the exam the day after. She also treated us each a McDonald's cheeseburger meal.

Hahahaha. It reminds me of the commercial.

"Uy, pacheeseburger ka naman. Burger! Burger! Burger!"

Hahaha. Weird much? Toink~

Mariane and I went back to school with Mrs. de Guzman and Mrs. Uson. The rest of the group went back with Ms. David. Back at the Costume and Props Office, we changed into our alpha uniforms, expecting that there will be a pictorial. Much to our dismay, there wasn't any. :(

We waited for our cheeseburgers and ate it before heading to our classroom. Back at the classroom, we saw them checking their 460-item exam. So to avoid leakage, we waited at the next classrom, telling Sir Lasaleta about our experience with her excellency.

While waiting, we saw Ma'am Marcos, Sir Ylade, and Sir Chavez, our senior officer who recently graduated from OBMCI. I was too timid to approach them but we did invite them inside the classroom.

Shortly after waiting, we were called to go inside the classroom to listen to Sir Capistarno's final speech.

*Sigh* We weren't able to have the boodle fight as well. Fortunately, James came up with the idea to still push through with the boddle fight. However, not everyone was able to join since some of them needed to go home already while some had their review sessions.

Mariane didn't know that in a boodle fight, we were to mix all the food we have so she was kind of in a shock and was near to vomitting. -.- In the end, however, we enjoyed it with Sir Capistrano and sir Lasaleta.

--------------------------------------------------

That's all for now folks~

I'll be updating about what important events happened during our COLT.

As usual, we were late.

*Is ashamed*

Because of our being late, we stayed at the back so we weren't able to listen to the reading that much.

*Sigh*

I felt like I didn't attend mass at all.

Anyway, after the mass, we were supposed to eat at Red Ribbon but it was under rennovation. We went to The Strip instead and ate at The North Park.

The first time we ate there, we were with our Uncle (father's side) and his family. We really enjoyed the food. However, this time, my mom claims that she doesn't want to go there anymore. She said that the food is nakakauyam.

After filling our stomachs with food, we went back home to pick up mommy's camera for daddy to bring along with.

Fortunately, we arrived at the airport just in time.

SHOUTOUT TO DADDY: Have a happy trip! We then went to the department store. We bought a pair of skinny jeans and a pair of shoes for me, and a bluse for my mom.
Wee for me!

Then we went home.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just remembered. Earlier yesterday, our puppy fell from the third step of the stairs. :((

I blame myself for that. You see, I went upstairs to get his shampoo and brush. He followed me but only until half of the stairs. After getting his things, I saw him still on the stairs, waiting for me. As I went down, he got scared, panicked and ran. Thus, he went tumbling down the stairs.

*Sigh* The poor thing. He probably thought I was going to attack him because I went down quickly.

I went to his aid and massaged his sprained leg. Everytime he'd take a step, you'll hear him cry. :(

He was so adorable yet pitiful.

Our maid pulled his legs to strectch it out.
